This class builds off of our "Introduction to Long Range Hunting" course in terms of external ballistics and wind calls. Additionally, this class is primarily shot from a position other than prone such as a tripod or barricade.

About the event

Our “Stabilized Long Range” course is designed to build off of the fundamentals gained in our “Intro to Long Range Hunting” course. In this course, we will be progressing from the basics of long-range shooting and moving into positional shooting. We will be getting out of the prone position, moving to realistic sitting, kneeling and standing positions. We will be capitalizing on the use of tripods, backpacks, natural barricades and trekking poles to create a stable shooting platform in a number of different situations throughout the day, for when we are unable to get into the prone position.

As hunters, we know that the perfect shooting platform rarely happens in the heat of a hunt, so we will be preparing you for when there is tall grass, brush, down trees or any other obstruction, keeping us from being able to make mid to long range shots from the prone position. We will also be diving farther into truing data and more advanced ballistics than were covered in our “Intro to Long Range Hunting” course. This more advanced ballistic understanding will aid in first round impacts, really focusing on the 300-700 yard shot range.

· Fundamentals of shooting kneeling

· Fundamentals of shooting standing

· Use of Tripods, backpacks, trekking poles, etc. to create a stable shooting platform

· Advanced truing information

· Improved wind calling for first round impacts

· Verification of data previously collected

Things you need to bring

· Hearing protection

· Eye protection

· A zeroed rifle that is capable of shooting consistent groups with the ammo brought to class

· 4 boxes of ammo to match your rifles data

· A data card (DOPE) from previous range days
